Is it possible to change the location of users roaming profiles from a w2k server partition to another location? Such as a NAS device?

I figured I could just move the folder containing all the profiles to the NAS drive, then change the location of the profile in the user account settings, then the next time a user logs on, it looks in the new location...and grabs the profile from there?

For instance, changing the location from:

\\server2k\profiles\%username%

To:

\\Vault\profiles\%username%

Will that work, is there anything I should know?

Thanks

As long as the path is shared on the network and the user can access the share, no problem. To move the profiles, I suggest you use the backup program to retain the NTFS permissions for the profiles.

that should work but just like 'Seaspray' said, be aware of the permissions changes.
