I am trying to move DN 2588 (TN 5 9) to TN 12 5. How can I do this? I am not a phone person at all so if you could give very explicit instructions that would be great.

Thank you for the prompt response. Now a foolish follow up question. Do I have to do anything to save this configuration after it's done? Do you ever have to save the config when changes are done on a Meridian?

A good suggestion is to use LD 43 and do an EDD (Equipment Data Dump). This will ensure the changes you just made are safe and sound. Usually, the midnight routines include LD 43, so this is done automatically for you each night.

A change in the Nortel PBX happens immediatly, but a Data Dump insures that the changes are copied form the read/write memory to the permanent storage (hard drive) of the system.

Hope this helps,

Scott M.

btw scott, even if 43 is not in midn, the switch does an edd if there has been a change since the last backup.. 43 is not in drol by default for a strange reason... back in the day, backing up to a tape, the tape would wear out in about 6 months if it ran everyday.. so they left 43 out of drol and just did a checksum and only edd'ed if needed.. strange that nortel still uses tid, most techs today never backed a merridian up to a tape.. i still do 3 a day, never a bad habit
