I'm slowly shutting down a win2k server that was also a domain controller and moving to a unix server with a work group. The move is basically done except for one or 2 pcs. The win2k box will eventually be unplugged.

I have 3 users left that I need to move, and I learned the hardway that if I change the log in on the pc from domain to work group they lose all there email files and Ie favorites. Is there a way to do this and keep these files so I don't ahve to do alot of importing and exporting?

You'll have to create local users for them, before removing them from the domain.
The local users should be the same as the domain user, then with both users active, log in as an Admin, and copy all settings from the domain user folder over to the local user folder.

[red]\Documents and Settings\user.domain[/red] to [blue[\Documents and Settings\user[/blue]

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.
