Is there a procedure for moving mailboxes from one Exchange site to another site within the same organisation. I am aware of the Move Mailbox which is for server to server in the same site only.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Nope, it's a case of creating a new mailbox in the new site, and deleting the old mailbox in the old site. It's a good idea to create the new mailbox with similar details as the old, and perhaps move the contents via a PST export and import as well (ExMerge can help here, especially if you're moving more than one mailbox).

You can put an X.500 proxy address on the new mailbox so that after deleting the old mailbox, replies to old mail the user sent out find their way to the new mailbox instead of being non-delivered. In Email Addresses, create a type of 'Other', Email Type is x500, Email address looks like this: /o=org/ou=site/cn=recipients/cn=directory-name and you substitute the org, site and recipients bits with the directory names of your org, site and recipients container the old mailbox used to be in. The directory name is also the directory name of the old mailbox, so check the Advanced tab before you delete it for this. It doesn't care about upper or lower case, and you can create this address on the new mailbox before you delete the old, it only takes effect after the old mailbox is deleted.

zbnet, thanks for the reply.
