Hi All

I have installed many SBS enviroments however I have not performed the following any help would be great.

I have an exisitng client that Runs SBS 2003 and Outlook 2003 clients all is working fine, Currently they archive mail older than 3 months to .pst files stored on the server.

The Company is breaking up and they wish to have another New out of the box SBS 2003 at the new location.

And take the data from specific public folders and Mail Boxes to the new location.

I am wanting a easy way to get specific mail boxes and specific public folders from the OLD SBS server to the new SBS Server without manually having to create Other .pst files and manually copy the data to them if you get what i mean.

I am thinging regarding the mailboxes, on the archive settings reduce the time to 1 day and run it, that should sort the Mail boxes out, and then manually copy the items that arrive on the day of the move to the PST and then copy the .pst of the old server to the new one and then back to the new mail boxes on the new server.

Is this the best way ?

Regarding Public Folders they are huge, again I was thinging of creating .pst files on a local PC and then copy the contents of the PF to the local .pst and then take the PST to the new site and creaet the PF on the server and copy back.

Is this the best way ?

I know both of these will work however just seems like too much hard work ! I have been looking at exmerge.exe but it looks quite hard to use correctly ??

Any help / advice would be great.

Exmerge is the solution for you. It is very easy to run. it will export whichever mailboxes you pick (it does 4 at a time thanks to multithreading, you can select allt hat you want at once and it moved through the list 4 at a time).

You then run ExMerge on the new server and it will import those files into the mailboxes.

I would advise to just go with your current plan however for the Public Folders.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
