Moving Goldmine to New Computer, need help on 2 issues

I have Goldmine 6.5 on a Dell HP Home. The computer is slow and Have had many issues so we bought a new Dell also XP Home. I need to Move GM to the new machine and I want to make sure that Everything is moved over. I have changed/added all kinds of custom fields and I cant imagine how long it would take me to start over. Help on that would be great.

The next thing I need help on is how I have GM configured. When we bought GM, the good folks at FR were not too helpful.

Goldmine is installed on My computer and I act as the "server". My boss also needs access so he bought two single user copies of GM. He is mapped to my computer for the database, but it is not working like it should. I can not create tasks for him or set alarms. he doesn't see them.

Since I am moving GM to another computer, I figured I would take the time to make it work right.

Help on this would be great.

You shouldn't run GM on XP Home edition for any reason. It is going to give you nothing but trouble.

You can get XP Pro all day, any day on EBay

You are also going to have real issues trying to network XP Home Edition. It is designed to give you a hard time doing that.

If you want to share GoldMine for two users, set up one PC to run it, enter your licenses into the license manager on that PC and then pull a shortcut to each of your actual PC's. You can accomplish this, even if you have to buy a whole new PC, for less than $600 these days, and it will leave you a lot happier
