Hi Guys

I'm looking for a step by step process on how to move Exchange 2003 from its current server to another server on my domain. A few months ago I introduced a new server on my domain which replaced another ADC. Now, I want to move the DNS, and Exchange roles to the new server from an existing server and retire the old server.

I've found kb articles on how to do it with keeping the same name of the server but this wont be my case. Is this a fairly straight forward process?

Any steps or insight of those of you who have successfully done this in the past would be extremely benificial.

Thanks

It is actually very straight forward.

DNS: Install DNS on the new one. Make it AD aware. Change the DHCP scope to point at the new one. Remove DNS from the other server.

Exchange: Move mailboxes, move bridgehead, rehome PFs, sort AV and anti spam, down the old server. Takes a bit longer to do than to read though.
