Can anyone tell me the implications of moving an exchange server into a new domain?
We have an Exchange 5.5 server running on a Windows NT 4 domain controller (mail_domain) which we would like to move into our new Windows 2000 forest (2000_domain).
As the mail_domain would no longer exist after we kill the last controller, I suspect we'd lose all the domain accounts which wouldn't be too much of a problem.
Big question is, would the mailboxes be ok?
The user accounts in 2000_domain are the same as the mailbox names in mail_domain so would there be an easy way of associating those accounts with the appropriate mailboxes after the move?
Any known pitfalls, tips, thing to be aware of and precautions (apart from backups!) would be grately appreciated.
cheers,
Dave.
