I'm running exchange 2000 and it is installed on the cd drive but unfortunately my c drive is getting full. Can I move exchange database to d and configure the exchange server to look for it in d? If yes, how? thank you!
In Exchange System Manager (ESM) you can do this. You can move the whole Storage Group and you can also, and you should for recovery purposes, specify a different location for the log files that is different than the database files.
To do any of this, start ESM, open the Administrative Group, and open your Exchange Server. To move the whole storage group, right click on the Storage Group and you can specify the disk location for both the system and the log files.
dkediger,
hi there sorry to cut it, do you happend to know how to recover emails from log files? thanks.. we were able to backup the log files but now the database files. thanks!!
Do you have a Exchange backup? File level backups are useless if Exchange was running.
If you have E000001.log to E00xxxx.log you can just have those files in the MDBDATA folder and start the store. For this to work you HAVE TO HAVE E000001.log also keep E00.log in the folder. Remove priv.edb and pub.edb as well as E00.chk Dan

My company is trying to clean up their network drive and they have asked me to do it. The problem is that we have a common drive with a lot of documents in it. I can see who the owner/author is by right click on the file, properties then summary. But that's doing it one at a time, is there a way to print out a list of all the files in that common directory showing each file who the author/owner of that file? Please help...
