Well, this is an old story.

A couple of years ago when I came to work for the company that I currently work for, the Exchange server was having lots and lots of problems. Top among them, -1018 errors that were causing all backups of the email to fail. Through a lot of trail and error (and an immense ammount of help from these boards) I was able to stop the -1018 errors from happening, and the backups have taken place ever since.

Fast forward to today, and we just finished moving to a new office. I haven't seen the -1018 error in well over a year, but as soon as I hooked the Exchange box up at the new place the -1018 errors started flowing again. Luckily, I can still back up the database now. Instead, I get errors trying to defrag the database. So rather than trying to fix the database again, I decided it's best to move the server to new hardware anyway. We've got a newer server that is unused, and I'd like to put it in the rotation. Plus, I'm 90 percent sure the -1018 errors are hardware related at this point since I imagine the shaking up of the servers from being moved is what caused them to start happening again. Everything else about our network is exactly the same as the old office.

So I'm really just looking for a decent guide to move an Exchange installation to new hardware. Anyone got any tips or links for me to follow? This would be my first Exchange installation too, so I'm sure I'll need some help there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, guys!!!
