I'm currently in a process of moving all our mailboxes to another exchange 2000 server. The move works fine and users can read and send emails. The problem I have is that the mailbox on the destination server increases in size. It's like it doubles in size. I don't know why it does this, can anyone please answer me why and if there is a way of reducing the mailboxes back down to their original size.

Thanks and Regards

The reason its doubling in size is likely because the deleted items retention is set and the deleted/deleted was not purged prior to the move, therefore it took all the old stuff with it on the move.
