Hi All,

I have domain.internal and a subdomain of that (so on the same tree) of test.domain.internal.

Problem is that the test domain should not be in any way connected to our current domain or forest - so I'd like to move it into it's own forest as a root domain.

The MS remdom tool doesn't do this, I can only move the domain into another tree - not another forest.

Any know any good articles on this sort of this or even experience would be great!

Cheers,

Steve.

DCPROMO one of the DCs from it out of the domain. Then DCPROMO it again to make it a DC for a new Domain/Forest.

If you need to save accounts int he test domain use ADMT to migrate them and then join the other DCs to the new domain.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark
