We currently have two domains and we are wanting to consolidate down to just one domain by getting rid of our child domain. I have an Exchange 2000 box that is in the child domain that we are going to get rid of and we want to move this Exchange box to the domain that we are keeping. All of the users that currently have mailboxes also have accounts in the domain we are wanting to move the Exchange server to. My question is how do I go about moving the Exchange server and associating the mailboxes to the accounts in the domain we are moving the box to?

Thank you.

Try the move mailbox wizard - if you can move the mailboxes in ESM from the child to the parent, do that.

Are the AD accounts mail enabled?

If not, exmerge from the child domain, mail enable in AD and exmerge into the parent domain.

So you are suggesting that I bring up a new Exchange box in the domain I want to keep and them move the mailboxes from the current Exchange box to the new one?

Also, what do you mean by are teh AD accounts mail enabled? None of the accounts in the domain we are keeping currently have mailboxes but at one time a couple of years ago exchange was in this domain so when you right click on the users you do get the exchange options to create mailboxes and establish email addresses.
