Hello All,

does anybody know how that once you copied a user profile to another location then how do you import it to another machine, here is the scenario I have a user with an older pc and I want to giver them a newer one without having to rebuild all of her applications and RAS & DUN connections, I’m not concerned about the apps as much as the RAS & DUN connections.

It's always a PEBKAC problem.

If you network the 2 machines, set up user on new machine, and log on to create a user profile. Then log onto old machine as a user with Administrator rights and with full rights to at the the Documents and Settings folder on the new machine (there will obviously need to be a share in place, which user also has full permissions to). Then use the copyto feature in system properties - selecting the current users profile from list and then browsing to the users profile on the new machine as target. Make it available to everyone (when its copied, you can restrict this on the new machine to the user).
