Hello guys, it's been a while but the bird is back with another question....

Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial on creating a cross-hair type setup to replace the mouse pointer - using flash 4

Also is there any way to create a display on the page that shows the pointers x & y Axises (Axis' , Axeees ?????)in a numeric value...

Hope you can help... Thanks in advance!

Hi Big,

Don't think you can change the mouse cursor in Flash 4, only in Flash 5.
As for a .fla on mouse coordinates, have a look at this one I adapted, a few months ago:

The coordinates are the ones in the middle of the white square (tip of the arrow)... You can always change the color of that square, to make it dissapear, blending with the background color.

;-)

Thanks Old or New or whatever you prefer....

That example is at least the first step in what I want... however I could not download the example from that site, is there somewhere else I could get it?

Thanks

I may be going crazy but it still wont work... Dunno if there is something wrong with the server or the link or what but I can't get it to load... is it possible to send it to me if'n you still have it to bigbird_3156@mbox.com.au Or at least give me some sort of a starting point so that I can try and figure it out for myself....

Thanks.... X-)

Hang on... Will try to email it to you!

;-)

Thanks again OldNewbie.... I'll give you a star for effort... now if only I could transfer the dang thing into my movie... you dont have any instructions to go with it, or the location of the original Tutorial do you?

Thanks for that Old...

Sorry about the delayed response, have been over seas for the last 3 weeks.
