HI

I have a mouse that will not work in 98se, I have tried various mice and none work, can anybody suggest how to check the settings maybe a registry setting for default ps2 mouse and how to see if corrupted.

Or how do I check to see if the mobo is not fault, old system so this is a possibility.

Thanks.

2 heads are better than 1, but 1 is better than a committee.

If they work on other systems, then it's possible the PS/2 port is bad.
You may be able to get it to work if you upgrade its drivers or the video card's drivers. Sometimes they conflict with each other.
Also, check the mouse in Device Manager for any driver or resource problems, or if it's disabled.
If no luck, then consider a serial or USB mouse(if your system has USB ports).
