Mouse Cursor gone from taskbar

From time to time my mouse cursor becomes invisible when hovering over the taskbar + start menu items. I know its its there though because I can still choose items etc...just can't see the cursor so I play a bit of a guessing game as to where I think the cursor is currently situated. I use Win2K Pro SP4...any particular reason this happens?

When did this start? New software installed? Hardware?
IMHO service pack 4 created more problems than it was worth. Having said that, make sure you have the latest drivers for your mouse and video card.

Thanks Ed - I just checked for updates on for my mouse/video cards and both are up to date. Unfortunately I can't recall whether the problem occured prior to installing SP4 (as I use multiple platforms on multiple PC's)
