Hello,

i have a server running solaris9 and i was wondering if there was a way to hardcode the port number for mountd?

At the moment each time i reboot the server it changes and this is causing major issues with an auto-mount through our firewall!

cheers

This is not settable to my knowledge. mountd/nfsd always start on the same port number, but client connections are assigned their port numbers at connection creation time. Best recommendation would be to identify the range (sorry I don't remember the min/max for mountd) and set the firewall to allow it. Or use another method rather than allowing nfs through a firewall...
