motorola sm56 modem HELP!

hi there,
i have a motorola sm56 modedm k,
i want to get a faster modem,
but i heard u can flash the modem to make it go faster,
is that true?
if so please tell me where i can download this flash from

I used to have the exact same modem (still have somewhere). I had a look round to find something that would flash it but had no success. The problem seems to be that all the link point to a new company where the update used to be. Try here:

or here for some files. I'm not sure what they are so you'll have to download them to find out, but there might be what your loking for there somewhere:

I got an external modem and they're sooooo much faster it seemed like the other one was 28K! An the machine is more stable with an external one too. Well I hope some of hat helps.
