motherboard selection

I have an old slot 1 PIII 450 CPU and want to pick up a board for it. I know ASUS and GIGABYTE are pretty good.....how is Abit? ECS? Amptron?

Isn't that a PC-Chips board? Avoid it like the plague. Getting the plague may be more merciful.

Otherwise, I try to avoid these opinion polls.

Gigabyte, Asus, they're both good boards. I've got an Abit which I like. I'd agree with the post above though PC Chips (urrhh makes me shudder) boards should be left alone. And ECS is apparently also good.

But like JohnS9051 said, and I'm inclined to agree - I try to avoid opinion polls! s-)
