I just replaced my motherboard (GA-7vkmp) and the processor, and the power supply, and the RAM...Everything is new! I cannot get this system to boot up. I get NO confirmation beeps and I have removed all hardware and memory. I have triple checked my control panel wiring and all wires are correct to the motherboard specifications. Anyone want to throw out a few ideas on how to get this thing to run? BTW , Yes it is the old harddrive from the old motherboard (Same Model # of motherboard, though). I still should get some sort of confirmation beeps without the HD ihooked up...right?

Thanks!

You'll only get beeps if a loudspeaker is plugged into the speaker connection on the mobo, or if it's got onboard sound and the external speaker system is plugged in. You will then get beeps even if nothing else is connected. If your certain you have a speaker of some sort connected then you have to begin thinking that the mobo is faulty.

Personally, with a new mobo, I install the mobo, cpu and h/s fan essemply. Plug in the speaker(s) & check for beeps before I do anything else. I re-do this test after the RAM goes in, then the video and floppy drive. At that point I run memtest86 for a few hours before installing the hard drives and any other cards, also one at a time.
