motherboard and ram compatibilities

I do not know how to find out what motherboard I have and if it can handle a
PC 100 or PC133 256 mg DIMM sdram chipbank. It has sdram already in a 128 mg
SIMM.

Open the case and see if there is a logo, name, model no. or part no. on the board.
Or go to

http://www.motherboards.org/moboidtools.html

and search for the manufacturer's ID using the BIOS string or one of the other ID tools.
