well people here we are again. Heres my motherboard info:
P4i65G
Socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4 / Celeron D (Prescott, Northwood, Willamate) processors
Intel 865G Chipset
Cmedia 9761A 5.1 channel audio CODEC
p4 overclocked to 3.4ghz
2 gig pc3200 (400mhz)
after updating my motherboard firmware from 1.0 to 1.4 Vista is now telling me why it is crashing and it seems to be against the usb_port and the built in audio on the board. I ran the upgrade advisor several times before upgrading to Vista and was informed it was ok to upgrade. has anyone experienced this problem with the same ( close to) setup? When I use say DVDshrink to burn a copy of my favorite home video of the kids and I use media player to stream audio from XM the machine crashes. if I disable the sound driver it works fine. would anyone out here suggest adding a new sound card and disabling the built in or just getting a new MB?
