I have some graphs that were made in Lotus Freelance Graphics for Windows (Linked Charts to .DBF tables), but the problem now is that we don't use Freelance anymore because of company rules, we need to use that graphs for new requirements, I'd been trying using Microsoft Excel or MicroSoft Powerpoint but this tools doesn't give me the same performance that freelance use to give me, My question is: If someone knows some application of microsoft to make graphs more completed, I'll appreciate.

Bye.

Wow. I don't know how much more you could want. Are there chart types you need that aren't provided? No, to my knowledge there is no *charting* application better than Excel's; at least not in the MS products.

Exactly what limitations are you up against?

Forget Powerpoint's charting; it's a scaled-down version of Excel's called MS Graph. Anne Troy

How about Harvard graphics?...if your not stuck on Microsoft that is....

I,m sure by now that HG supports DDE to Excel or Access,...

but I would only bet a days pay...not the whole check!

When I initially read this posting, I noticed the reference to stick within "Microsoft" products, so decided NOT to respond.

However, here's my 2¢ worth...

CorelCHART, in my humble opinion, is BY FAR, THE best software package for graphs. This is due to it being OLE compatible with CorelDRAW (version 5). With CorelDRAW being a complete "graphics" package, there are virtually NO limits as to possible enhancements.

This "duo" is in turn OLE compatible with PowerPoint - to the extent that graphs can be embedded TOTALLY within a PowerPoint file - and occupy LESS disk space than if they were saved independently. Yet, these graphs can STILL be edited from within the PowerPoint file - with just a "click on the OLE object".

Unfortunately, however, CorelCHART was abandoned by Corel Corporation after CorelDRAW 5, so don't expect CorelCHART to work with later versions of CorelDRAW. Corel Corp. needs to update required "filters", and to my knowledge they have yet to do so.

It's interesting to note that some CorelCHART users are STICKING with CorelDRAW 5 - specifically due to it supporting CorelCHART. Some have even reverted back to using CorelDRAW 5 from later versions.

Here's a Tek-Tips thread that will provide an example of someone who was ALSO dissatisfied with Excel's graphing limitations, and was QUITE surprised and happy to learn of CorelCHART. thread238-274564

I hope this will be of interest. :-)
