Ok I'm lazy I get tired of having to push the darn on/off button why can't I set it up so shutdown turns the power off in win2k lol I've been wondering this for 3-4 months now lol hmm lets see what else
ahh on my 3rd computer I have win me (yes i know it is bad) and win2k I'm gonna wipe all but 1 drive and start fresh but the drive I'm going to instal win2k on is only a 1.94g partition is that a bad idea? Is there a way I can redirect program files etc to a different drive so Win2k is alone? Is there any advantage of this or should I just repartition it to say 5 gigs? Thx

Redirecting "program files" is a great idea, if you could do this. W2k provides all the facility to do this, except you can't empty the folder and that is required when you create the junction. I have attempted this several ways without success.

Unfortunately, many MS programs are hard coded to install files to "C:\program files\common files" even the OS. Other programs can be redirected to some other location, but you don't need redirection to accomplish that.

Junction points look much more promising for Server and Advanced Server. For Professional it looks as if junction points are useful for remounting your CD-ROM drive onto a disk.

Just so everyone is on the same page:
Junction points = Mount points
