Im using a standard 56K V90 modem. At first I thought it was a virus so I scanned with Norton 2001. I scanned all the files but no virus was found. I'm not on a network.Ive tried to close it several times but, it doesnt want to. It cant read either though the busy light turns on when I try to close it. I dont think its the hardware coz the device manager has identified it and it also appears during boot. I use it as a secondary slave since Im using to hard disk drives. Ive tried using it as master but it still wont work correctly. Thanks for the replies guys.

Probably just the Drive itself as someone suggested already on the other post. Have you tried it. Every day above ground is a GOOD DAY!!!

I removed the IDE cable as suggested and turned on the PC. It still closes and opens on its own. Now, I think its the drive. Thanks anyway guys:)
