I need to calculate calls coming into a center. The calls are broken down into hardware and software calls. I need to calculate for each month the number of hardware and software calls and show that on a report. Next I need to show on a monthly bases a certain problem a customer is calling in on. Lets say broken door. I will need to show the number of calls per month for that problem and it's percentage of hardware calls for that month. Thanks

Month({datefield}) will return 1 thru 12. Group on this formula and you have the number of records per month. Software Support for Sage Mas90, Macola, Crystal Reports, Goldmine and MS Office

You can simply group on the call date field and select
among the grouping option to "print this section"
"for each month".

To get your various counts, you can rely on
Running Totals with an "Evaluate" option set to an expression which is TRUE for only Hardware,
only Software, etc.

Do you need to take the year into account?

Yes...what I want to show is a chart of the top ten calls, then 10 seperate charts for each top ten with its total for each month. The year can play a apart in the charts.

Thanks

If the year will play part in the charts then you must make YEAR part of your record selection formula or your grouping formula. Otherwise, if you just group on month, you will have multiple years included in your totals.
