Does anyone who uses Computer Associates' "Unicenter" to
monitor Microsoft SQL Server 2000 have anything to say
about its usefulness? I am considering using "Unicenter"
to monitor SQL Server 2000, but there is a dearth of
information (Google search) about it. Any useful comments
will be greatly appreciated!

It will monitor all of the basic stuff:
Locks,
DB's, filesystems, logs, devices, tables (for size etc)
services
But that's about it really (although this is usually enough).

I would say though, that Unicenter would be a pretty expensive solution for monitoring SQL Server only. It's a complete Network & Systems management suite and may be a bit of overkill unless you roll it out everywhere.

If all you are interested in is monitoring Microsoft SQL you're probably better off using MOM.
