Hi all,

Another brain bender. One of my users monitors is acting odd. For 80% of the screen its normal. The other 20% of the screen is a copy of the desktop. It's like it's mirrored. I've tried changing the resolution and swapping monitors. Anyone heard of this? I'm running a Virus scan on it currently.

If the electron gun is aimed waaaaaay off, I've seen the left side of the desktop appear on the right side, but you say the 80% that you see is the COMPLETE desktop, and the part thats added on is a copy of the first?! Never seen that. Try adjusting the horizontal sweep control and make sure it's not just the original desktop.

I have had this happen and changing the adapter tab to Adapter Default instead of optimal cleared it up.

Right click on open desktop
Properties
Settings
Advanced
Adapter
Drop down where it is set to optimal has Adapter Default

However, if anyone knows why this happened to begin with I would be very interested in another work around. ggebhart@clover.net
I hope I never get too old or arrogant to learn something new!

I changed the adapter from optimal to adapter default and it cleared it up (sorta). Before the bottom 4th of the screen was cluttered up with unlegiable garbage, after I made the change the garbage was gone but it was still split. I'm going to tinker with the adapter settings more. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Thanks for the advice lgebhart!

I did a reboot and it was fixed. I was talking to my user and he said it just happend. He was working in Excel at the time... Your guess is as good as mine as to why...
