Hi all,
My LG 775FT Monitor will not switch off cleanly when I shut down my computer.
When I select 'Shut down' the monitor goes to standby after a few seconds, then as Windows continues with he Shut down process it comes on again and then almost immediately off as windows finally shuts down. This is accompanied by the usual zzing noise of the screen de-gauss.
Not much to be concerned about you might think ... well yes but this is my 2nd monitor in a little over a year. The 1st one went defunct with a puff of smoke.
Maybe it was just coincidence, but I can't help thinking the constant powering on/off didn't help things.
I am running Windows '98SE on an Epox 8K7A+ MB with an AMD 1.4 processor. I am fully up to date with all the MS updates / service packs for Office 2000 etc. Come to think about it I don't think I had this problem just after I did a format/re-install a month or so ago. It may well have been after I installed all the lengthy MS updates / patches that this started to occur.
I have installed the most recent monitor driver to no avail.
This may be a specific problem just with my system, but I would certainly appreciate any advice on this. Perhaps someone has heard about, or experienced something similar ?
Thank you
Norman Watkins
