Hi guys,
I have a odd question i suppose.
I have a bunch of routers all talking OSPF to each other. Sometimes our carrier buggers the connection and OSPF goes down ( But vanishes from SNMP ) so cant use that to poss if a link is down.
The interface stays UP UP as its ethernet and its local link is actually up anyway.
Is there some way i could so summat like.
Router1
Int gig0/1
monitor SOMENAME1
Router2
Int gig0/1
monitor SOMENAME1
Lets say both routers would now poll the other end for SOMENAME1 , If it replys then lets say the MONITOR SOMENAME1 value would be up.
If it didnt then its value would be down.
Is there anythin like this?
I know of a few protocols but they all seem to shutdown the link on failure. I just need some SNMP value to change if the other end of the link is unreachable.
Thanks
L
