My monitor is not redisplaying the screen after the PC is awakened from hibernation. It is on and the monitor works just fine otherwise. Any ideas? I have to restart the PC in order to get the monitor to display again

Have you tried another Monitor, or using another screen display resolution, or a lower/higher screen refresh rate?

It wont hurt to check your Event Viewer to see if anything is mentioned there.

Some general things to try.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

Thanks - I'll dig into all of this and see how it goes. For the time being, I disabled hibernation, so I am avoiding the problem. I would rather get it fixed.

A secret admission - I have never used Hibernation. On Desktops it is one of the first things I disable. However with the size of hard drives the 500mb you free up by disabling Hibernation is not so significant nowadays.
