I have a spreadsheet that is in effect the finished product of a crosstab. The first column is date which would stay fixed and it contains records from rows A2:A367. Then we have coulmn headings from Column B to Column CU which should in effect become field values. I need to pivot this data to look like what is showing up below the asterisks. How can I do this?

Date Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly Animal Mortality{Virginia Covington to ColumnCU
1/1/2004
1/2/2004 83 77
etc

******************************************
What data needs to end up like
******************************************
Date Type Number Processed
1/1/2004 Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly
1/2/2004 Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly 83
etc for Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly

1/2/2004 Animal Mortality{Virginia Covington 77

Doc,

Check out NORMALIZE Your Table using the PivotTable Wizard faq68-5287

I am trying to figure out how to do this specifically and I keep getting stuck. The explanation sounds easy but I cannot get it to work.

I used the process on the example you posted and got...
[tt]
Row Column Value
1/1/2004 Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly
1/1/2004 Animal Mortality{Virginia Covington
1/1/2004 to ColumnCU
1/2/2004 Animal Mortality{Connie Brierly 83
1/2/2004 Animal Mortality{Virginia Covington 77
1/2/2004 to ColumnCU
[/tt]
What is not working?

John Walkenbach has a page that allows you to create a database table from a summary table
