I want to change the colour of the start button, not the menu itself.

I can change every other colour in Windows, but is there a way to change the colour of the start button?

Have a look around here, I have changed the text with this
but I have not tried to change the color.

You could also look at a program called window blinds I think there is a 30 day trial.

Please let us know if the advice we give is of some help.
Feedback will benefit all

Thanks for the tip, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. I've already changed the text, but I can't find anything that tells me how to change the colour.

I know about Windows blinds, but I always try not to use 3rd party programs to modify Windows, I always like to try and modify the registry or the current code in Windows.

You can eventually find your answer here:
Stop at one of the early messages for the Link to Resource Hacker and download it.

Then read to the end as you watch people bungle the job until you get clear instructions on how to do it properly.

OT: linney, what does your start button text now read?

OTT; Bcastner, "TARTS" now whers dat dicshonry. Might change it to "Protected Storage" or similar.

linney,
I know what beer4meok suggested on how to change the text of the start button. How did you change it, and is it easy to do? Also, did you ever get the color changed?
