Modifying Crystal Report 8.5

How do I modify a crystal report ver 8.5 without changing the version. The crystal report version loaded on my computer is version 11. If I modify the current report with version 11 then save the version would change to version 11. once the version changed from 8.5 the application cannot read it.

Do you know how I could modify this report without changing the version?
