I would like to know if it is possible to change the values of a table on a global basis for a table in word 97. For example, I have a table of prices in a word document and would like to increase the prices by 5%. Is there some way to do this beyond using a calculator and retyping each number.

My suggestion.
Open Excel.
Go back to the doc in Word.
Click inside the table. Hit Table-Select table.
Hit copy.
Go to new Excel worksheet.
Hit paste.
Put 1.05 in any blank cell on the worksheet.
Copy it.
Select all your old prices.
Hit Edit-Paste special, Multiply. Ok.
Copy all populated cells (except the 1.05 cell)
Paste back into Word.

Thanks, I guess this can't be done directly in Word then. I was hoping there was some way of imposing a formula directly on each highlighted cell. I guess that would have been too easy.
