Had a similar problem recently when the user had some internet security/virus software from McAfee running on his workstation. Can't remember the name of it.
Went round and round with Mcafee and eventually gave up. They would not admit fault even though I could prove it was their software doing it.

Well, pretty much, but I tend to hold grudges so I'm still pissed at McAfee. It was McAfee VirusScan 8.0 (With a suite of other internet security stuff)
In the specific situation, the user had bought that crap software for around $50. I spent several hours troubleshooting, opening support incidents, arguing with Mcafee, etc. Once the problem was identified, Tossing that $50 piece of trash was the easiest part of the process.
And, for the humor of all, here is an exerpt from a conversation with McAfee Tech support...
" Marvin, McAfee VirusScan ABSOLUTELY does NOT change files on a Novell file server. Impossible." Next Breath... "But if you find that it DOES change files on a Novell server, please blah blah blah..."

I just started having the same problem with several hundred files being changed to a date of 1-1-85 at 4:02 AM. I have just recently installed (and uninstalled) a copy of mcafee to fix a virus that my virus software did not catch. I also have Novell 6 with a 4.83 Novell client on a Win2K PC. I use Arcserve Version 9, but have for a year. It certainly is starting to sound like Mcafee. I do not use Norton Anti-virus.
