Well, pretty much, but I tend to hold grudges so I'm still pissed at McAfee. It was McAfee VirusScan 8.0 (With a suite of other internet security stuff)
In the specific situation, the user had bought that crap software for around $50. I spent several hours troubleshooting, opening support incidents, arguing with Mcafee, etc. Once the problem was identified, Tossing that $50 piece of trash was the easiest part of the process.
And, for the humor of all, here is an exerpt from a conversation with McAfee Tech support...
" Marvin, McAfee VirusScan ABSOLUTELY does NOT change files on a Novell file server. Impossible." Next Breath... "But if you find that it DOES change files on a Novell server, please blah blah blah..."
