Hi all

os = Win2k

My serial US Robotics Modem (Sportster Flash 56K) will not
remain 'attached' if I boot without switching the modem
on first. I can't see why this should be as it did not do this
when I was using win98 . I'm properbly missing a simple setting
somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it.

Obviously I could just leave the modem on all the time but
I don't like to

Can Someone solve this mystery for me.

Thanks in advance

Anton

That's a problem with W2k/XP. They disable any devices that aren't switched on during boot. I haven't found a way around it, and don't think there is.

What I do is leave all my periphials on, but when finished I switch the PC off at the mains, thus turning everything off.

Hi AP81

Thanks for the reply
A pity though, seems a bit unneccessary
Oh well
