I am trying to connect US Robotics 56k Faxmodem to Opt 11.
This modem does not have any dip switches and I am using Hyperterminal to connect. Trying to use the AT commands one at a time, this is what I get on my PC. Please note that I am in the UK, so it may be that the at&b1 command is not recognised, but I still need to know what that line should be.

at&f0 I get OK

ats0=1 I get OK

at&b1 I get ERROR

aty0 I get ERROR

atq1 No response ?

at&w0 No response ?

at&w1 No respose.

And when I do AT&V

the response is :-

E1 L2 M1 P¦T0
Q1 V1 X4 &C1
&D2 &G0 &I12
&P0 &R1 &S0
%B0 %C1
%D0 %L0 \G0 \K1

Any assistance would be appreciated as I need to get this set up to allow me work remotely and not have to drive to the site..........

Yes, and I have checked almost every posting on 'modems' that is on the site. I have tried to 'send' almost every command that has been posted to this modem and I get 'ERROR' on most.

What function in the modem are you looking to enable/disable?
Do you have the "User manual"?

other then auto answer we are setup about the same.. your config should work.. have you tested the port? your good from the pc/term to the robotics.. what port and what type switch? port 0 on an 11 can be a pain.. i've needed an ini to wake that one up... can you print the adan? and or stat from ld 37..

modems can be strange, i use a breakout box when i get a stuborn one.. i also usually keep a normal and a rolled cable or at least a nul to put in line.. i hate dyper-term but it usually works... if you can short 2 to 3 on the rs232 you should be able to type and see it on the screen if dtr is shorted back to rts..

1
2 transmit
3 rec
4 to remote 5 or loop to local 5
5 to remote 4 or loop to local 4
6 to local 7
7 to remote 20 or loop back to local 20..

... if you wire that and you can even short local 4 to 5 on both ends.. if so the only 2 leads you really need are the transmit and rec..
