HI!
Does anybody know what exactly purpose of the files which are
in the /nsr/mm/mmvolume6 directory ?
I have over there:

VolHdr
ss*
temp_*
vol*

What defference between clients, clients.0, clients_i0, etc ?
Can I directly (whith any nsr* or mm* tools) look into clients* or ss* files ?
I suppose my media database corrupted for one client.
I have 6.0.1 version.

Thanks

VolHdr
ss.0
vol.0
are the main media databases
The *_i*, clients, vol and ss files are all created for faster indexing
It sometimes happens that the indexes get corrupted giving some
pretty weird behaviour. You can force a media database 'scavenge' by shutting down Networker, removing
*_i*
ss
vol
clients
ie, everything EXCEPT VolHdr, vol.0, ss.0, clients.0
You can also remove /nsr/mm/cmprssd to force database recompression
Then restart NetWorker - you'll see messages relating to the scavenge process and the other files will be recreated, hopefully without any errors this time

Actually, it is ss.X, vol.X and clients.X that are the data files.

You can have ss.1, ss.2, vol.1, vol.2 client.1, etc... If you delete these files, you will lose data in your media database.

I posted the *corrent* method for media scavenging on the following thread: thread480-421914 got the procedure while taking a Legato course.
