Does anyone know where I can get all the subcommand for mminfo (i.e. pssid, sumflag, ssflag variants) and what those variants’ mean? I’m trying to develop a cloning / staging script and need to know how to sort the ssid’s. The command reference guide is very vague regarding some of its subcommands and their meaning. Legato support wasn’t much help either.

The command line refrence is the only guide to the commands, and everything is in there as far as i know. Although i do agree that some options might not be very well explained. Not sure what you mean by "variants"? Do you mean the actual output that for instance ssflags or sumflags return? If so, that's in the guide as well, but explain a bit more what you mean/want to do and we´ll try and sort things out.

If you are cloning/staging from disk you really only need the ssid and the cloneid. Then it´s just a matter of specifying your query to match only this pool and that group and so on to control it. Make sure you grab them from the .RO device though.

Cheers!

I’m doing staging / cloning from tape, so the GUI staging interface won’t work. I need the output for sumflag, ssflag for my script. I didn’t see what are the different outputs and their mean in the commands reference guide.

Hi again!
Ok i see. Well, the info you want is in the command refrence guide, but here´s some info about sumflags and ssflags that i hope you´ll find usefull.

---------------------------------------------------------
sumflags output the status of the saveset on the current tape, which part is located on tape and it´s status. Flags will be a combination of the following flags.

c = complete, the entire saveset is located on volume
h = head, first part of saveset is located on volume
m = middle, middle part of saveset is located on volume
t = tail, last part of saveset is located on volume
b = browsable, located in online index
r = recoverable, not in online index but can be recovered
using saveset recover or scanner.
a = aborted, saveset has been aborted and is probably junk
i = in progress, saveset is currently being written
p = purged, saveset deleted from the media database
E = elegible for recycling, saveset is recyclable
--------------------------------------------------------

ssflags is the savesets total status, even if it spans several volumes. Will give a combination of the following flags: CvrSENRiIF

C = continued (saveset spans multiple volumes)
v = valid (saveset is ok)
r = purged (recoverable)
S = scanned-in
E = elegible for recycling
N = NDMP saveset
R = raw saveset
i = incomplete saveset
I = in progress
F = Finished saveset

A written saveset should allways contain v and F as ssflags to indicate that it is ok.
--------------------------------------------------------

Hope this gives you some more info on the subject. And as always, if i made a mistake somewhere please correct me.

Cheers!
Maverick
