Auto attendant is working great with one exception. Have one of the single digit options going to an extension which is call forwarded to an external number. You can call the extension and it forwards correctly. Forwarding is setup for both internal and external. Incoming calls will not call forward back out.

you probably don't have trunk to trunk enabled in forms 3, 4 and 30

form 3 depending on your trunks one of options 313 to 318, this of the voicemail system cos, also call forward external and abbreviated dial
form 4 option 21
form 30, device interconnection table, depending again on your trunk type enable trunk type to trunk type

think that is all

Went through all of those options and all looks good. No restrictions.

When I select "2" from the autoattendant, You are being transferred to "2", I get music on hold, then it comes back and says that extension is not valid, please try again. I get the same response by just dialing the extension 7777 which "2" is pointed toward. Internally, we can dial 7777 and get the outside number.

yes but can you transfer an external call to it and have it forward?

If that answer is No, then you need to fix unsupervised Trunk to Trunk conferencing

If that answer is still yes
[ul]
[li]Change a regular phone to have the same COS and COR as a vm port[/li]
[li]Test again using said phone - expect failure[/li]
[li]Change COR of phone to known working COR[/li]
[li]Test again - If fixed, you will need to adjust the COR of the VM Ports[/li]
[li]If still failing, you will need to adjust the COS of the VM ports[/li]
[/ul]

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

make sure you have abbreviated dial in cos of voicemail cos option 245

If I call in and talk to the operator, they can transfer me to extension 7777 which is call forwarded to the external telephone number. This works.

The extension, 7777, already has the same COS and COR as the voicemail ports.

If I call in and hit the autoattendant, press option 2 which has an extension of 7777 associated with it, the calls comes back with "this extension is not valid"

Saw the other day that someone had a similar issue and found it to be with the voicemail port being restricted to internal. This was a hotel motel setup and may not be relevant.
