Missing Workstation , Netlogon, and Computer Browser services. Can't log into any domain, but can Get IP addresses and surf web, but cannot map drives to anything network resource related. 4x svchost.exe services running in task manager but I don't see it under computer management to stop and start it again. Any Ideas. thanks

In your LAN Properties, do you have the Client for MS networks, Client installed (and the File and Printer Sharing Service)?
If not, then the Server and Workstation services may not show up.

Is there anything else reported in the Event Viewer?

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Services.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP (Q315341)

For default services replacement files try here.

Thanks Linney.... I figured that out myself too after a while. Thanks though, you are correct. Client for Microsoft Networking got removed somehow. Would any application remove that feature. example :Dameware
