Using MS Word XP and the Track Changes feature, Deleted text shows up in a different color without the strikethrough. This is ok if viewing on the screen, but when printed on a black and white printer you can't tell which text was deleted. Note: Using Tools, Options, Track Changes tab, "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" is turned off. Why doesn't deleted text have a strikethrough and how can we fix this?

See if you have "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" checked under Tools, Options, Track changes. If so, uncheck it.

I do have "Use balloons in Print and Web Layout" unchecked.

If that's the case, your only choice is to run a macro that will take care of the striketroughs.

Sub Strough()
Options.DeletedTextMark = wdDeletedTextMarkStrikeThrough
End Sub
