Deploying Virus Scan 4.51 from Management console 2.5MR1 Build 1385.

After installation (removes old version during installation) users are left on rebooting with the error message SHSTAT.EXE or associated files / libraries are missing.

Reinstalling does not fix the problem.
Full removal, deletion of all files after removal via MCON does not fix.
Nothing on NAIs website about it and nothing from their tech support yet.

Anyone else have any info / similar prob.

Thanks

Just solved the same problem by editing the following registry setting (its in the "run" key)
HKey_Local_Machine\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
Delete the approprate line. This solved the error problem, but I still couldnt uninstall or reinstall the app... so ...I ran the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility: ( ) In addition to this, I needed to search the registry for "Associates" and "Virus" and delete all hits (and the data1.msi file reference you will find with the "Virus" search). Four hours later, all is well... hope this saves any readers a few hours!

Thanks,

I obtained a utility from Network Associates to do this for me. Solved all my problems.

Where can I get this utility? I looked around but found nothing on the NAI-Sites.

Thanks in advance,
Nils.
