Missing Registry Information

Trying to open Access (2000) and the following error message is displayed:

"Required Registry Information is Missing and this application cannot be run. Please rerun setup to correct this problem"

Well, despite re-running setup several times and even uninstalling Office and reinstalling it nothing seems to work. We have tried to get information from MS from their website but no luck, so I am hoping that I have better luck here.
Any help would be, as ever, gratefully received.

If this is a Windows 2000 machine, make sure you log in as the local Administrator to install Office. Other user profiles have limited permissions to the registry that can prevent proper software installations.

It's Win98 and Office 2000. Thanks for that though.
