We are currently migrating from Mac to Windows. We use a Windows 2000 server. Both the macs and PC's are connected to the same server and can access the same files. When we build files on the mac in quark and open them on the PC and vice versa, the pictures register as missing, and we have to find and update them all over again. Is there a way to prevent this? Can we set it up so that the macs are seen as PC's, and will this solve our problem?

This is down to the way the PC and macs both see paths in a different way. Macs us ' : ' and PCs use ' \ '. Have used both macs and pc for ages and have not managed it yet.

If you can't fix it in 20 minutes call someone who can.

Hi everyone,

We were able to slove our problem by contracting a company called Gluon to write an extension that does this for us. Basically it converted the : to // and allowed us to enter the name of server. It works like magic..very fast.

Thanks for your guidance
