I have installed MS Office 2000; Excel, Word, Frontpage and MS Publisher from Office XP install disks. Computer P4 XPPro.

All disks are properly owned....

Problem:

For no good reason MS Publisher disappeared from Program Files and Desktop and yet the .pub files remained....

Question:

Is this a registration issue ?

Any other clues or tips..?

(BTW I just re-installed from the Office XP disks)

Your post is a bit confusing - have you installed Office 2000 or Office XP?

Although it doesn't explain your mystic disappearance (which really shouldn't ever happen), I seem to remember there being some compatibility issues running Publisher 2000 under Windows XP.

Enjoy,
Tony

Sorry....and thanks Tony, you are right a bit confusing..

Re-stated

OK I have installed MS Office 2000; Excel, Word, Frontpage on a Computer P4 XPPro machine... From a properly owned MS disk Office 2000 Premium.... INSTALLED AND WORKED FINE

Then I installed on the same machine MS Publisher from different disks (actually from) Office XP install disks.
Installed and worked fine.

Problem:

For no good reason, after several months of proper operation, the MS Publisher disappeared from Program Files and Desktop and yet the .pub files remained....

I checked in Control Panel.. only Office 2000 was present...

Question: I suppose it was only a question to see if there was a compatbility issue or a 'time out' automatic de-install option in Office XP.... or a similar problem that someone else had experienced.

Solution: I re-installed MS Publisher from the Office XP disks... works fine (again)

Has any one else experienced this vanishing act behaviour ? I cannot explain it.
