I have a laptop which has Windows XP pro installed. I had SQL 2000 personal and Crystal Reports 7 applications installed. I was no longer using Crystal on the laptop and wanted to remove it. I did an uninstall and the uninstall had some problems but I did respond to leave the shared files alone. I then tried using SQL Enterprise Manager. The Enterprise Manager starts OK, allows me to select a server, database and table. But if I try to look at the table or issue a SQL statement against it I get an error message as follows:
I tried reinstalling SQL over the top which did not work, meaning I get the same results. I then deinstalled MS SQL totally, rebooted and then reinstalled it. Again without success. Anyone have any suggestions on how to determine what is missing or how to solve this problem?

The query cannot be executed because some files are either missing or not registered.
Run setup again to make sure the required files are registered.
