Missing file types for Import in Access 97

I have a user who is trying to import data from Excel 97 to Access 97. However, when he chooses the import option the excel file type is missing. We have removed office and then reinstalled but still with the same problem. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Had a go at looking at regedit and making sure the keys were there under Jet. Added a couple but still no joy, they were only strings. There must be a fix out there some where. Just found a couple of me people with the same problem while I was trying to find a good reg.

you need to re-register msexcl35.dll in c:\winnt\system32
